Maybelline Super Stay Gel Nail Color Review – Beige Touch (877)

First of all, thanks for dropping by my blog. Your love and support means so much to me. So have you tried the super stay range from Maybelline. Worth the hype? and price?

I was super excited to try Maybelline Super Stay Gel Nail Color when I heard it would last me the whole week. Whole. Week. I am a bright color diva (of course self-proclaimed *khi khi). However, this time I just went for a nude shade owing to the fact that it does look decent in office.

If you see the back of the bottle it say 7 (in a visible font), DAYS (in a smaller font yet readable) and with top coat touch ups (even smaller). This reminded me of mutual funds 😛 . So anyway, I saw this text around 3 days post to application. Therefore, this review is based upon no top coats and touch ups whatsoever.

What they claim – 7 DAYS with top coat touch ups.

How I apply – Shake the bottle and then open. Take the brush and gently remove all the nail color from one side by sliding on the bottle neck, then remove the excess (you don’t want to color your sidewalls). Take the brush with the side which has nail color and apply a dot at the bottom of the nail. Sweep on rest of the nail. Do it for all the nails. Let it air dry and apply another coat if required. I applied 2 coats.

Color & pigmentation – Beige Touch (877). What I have is a nude shade, a light mauvish color. The coverage is good. Super Stay Gel leaves your nails quite opaque with just 1 coat but I prefer 2. Moreover, it lasts longer with 2.

Texture – Maybelline Super Stay Gel Nail Color is of a medium consistency, can be applied pretty smoothly.

Packaging & Quantity – Super Stay Gel comes in a flat transparent bottle with a white screw cap. You can see the shade number and name written on the cap. It is quite sturdy and travel friendly (I have carried it a lot in my bag). You get 10 ml of product.

Applicator – The brush is wider than the regular round brushes and hence makes the application seamless. Btw, this is a pro :P. I actually loved the brush.

Price – Rs. 325 (OMG!)

On one hand I do like the Maybelline Super Stay Gel Nail Color but considering that Maybelline is a drugstore brand, the price is just too much to justify its worth. I just loved the color  and also the applicator. Super Stay Gel lasted me 4 good long days and I am pretty happy with it. It started wearing off from the tip of my nail. It might just last longer with top coat & touch ups. However, I would not prefer to buy another bottle of it as there are other comparatively cheaper options available in the market which suffice the purpose for me.

  7. I love Maybelline super stay nail paints as all the shades are super pretty.I loved the flat brush applicator which makes it easier to apply the nail paint.It is a bit pricey but the quality is really good so I do not mind spending a bit more.Loved the shade and the review.
