Loreal Hydrafresh Anti Shine Icy Gel Review

So what did you do this weekend? Mine was super busy with my toddler so no posts then 😛 :P. Today I have for you a genie in a jar. Yes! in a jar. This little baby here is a blessing for my fellow oily friends 😀 😀 Doesn’t this sound amazing? Who wants that oily shine on the face right after you step out of the house? Or that greasy feeling post moisturising? If you face any of these then keep reading.

What they claim – This Icy gel contains deep marine source water enriched in minerals to improve skin moisture and help prevent water loss. Enriched in Zinc, known for its powerful sebum regulating properties, this Icy gel helps to bring shine control. The formula also contains micro-sponges that help to absorb the excess sebum for immediate and long term matt skin. Day after day skin gets rid of shininess and pores are clear and tightened. Skin is smooth and evened out.

How I apply – Scoop out tiny bit of Loreal Hydrafresh Anti Shine Icy Gel, rub it between the fingers and apply it all over my face.

Color & pigmentation – It is light aqua green in color. It does not leave any residue and has no pigmentation whatsoever.

Stay – Loreal Hydrafresh Anti Shine Icy Gel keeps face oil free for 4-5 hours.

Texture – It is more on the gel side. Instantly gets absorbed leaving the skin soft and supple. There is no oiliness or shine, leaves you completely matte yet hydrated. It is definitely anti-shine. Gives an icy effect on applying which is so refreshing. I also feel a tingly sensation around my nose area but that settles in a while.

Fragrance – Loreal Hydrafresh Anti Shine Icy Gel has a strong icy cold smell but goes away in a jiffy. However, it does bother me.

Packaging & Quantity – It comes in a square glass jar, a plastic lid and then the screw plastic cap. Although the jar is made up of glass but it is pretty tough. I dropped it from an appreciable height 😳 😳 but it did not break (Don’t try it though 😛 ). You get 50 ml of product.

Things that please me – Loreal Hydrafresh Anti Shine Icy Gel is surely THE MOISTURISER for oily skin. Very little of it is required. It easily gets absorbed in the skin and gives you that fresh matte finish yet so hydrated. My skin feels so soft, smooth and supple that I feel like touching it again and again. (Although, I wouldn’t recommend doing that 😛 😛 ) My pores do feel tightened but I don’t know whether it is this or my CTM on the work. It does feel tingly around my nose area but that goes away soon. It did not break me out at all.

Things that bother me – I do not like the way it smells. I wish it was a little milder than this. Also, it does not have any SPF or anti ageing or anti wrinkle properties 😦 The claim of skin getting rid of shininess with regular use is not true. It comes in a jar so you need to dip your fingers to get the product out which is quite unhygienic. I don’t think this is the best product for the dry skin people as you might not feel hydrated enough.

I am definitely buying another one of these. 😀 😀
