I have been MIA from sometime which is due to my health and house shifting. Yes, both things combined. Hopefully I will be able to get back on track now and post on a regular basis as before. Hope I did not miss much.
Once you get that flow you really can’t stop with eyeliners. This is so true. When I did not know how to apply liquid liners I used to dread even looking at them. But now when my hand is accustomed to making that wing, I reach upto liquid liners more. And I actually think it is much easier to apply and gives a better look.
Today I will be reviewing Maybelline hyper matte liquid liner for you.
What they claim –
- First ever matte finish liquid liner by Maybelline New York
- Gives 10X hyper intense black lines
- Stays for 24 hours
- Smudge-proof, water proof and heat-proof
How I apply – Shake well. Open and wipe of the excess from the brush with the edge of the bottle. Start from the inner corner and apply a thin line by following natural lash line. Draw a wing with whatever is left on the brush. Dip in for more and build up as desired.
Color & pigmentation – Hyper matte liquid liner is black in color and dries matte. However, the pigmentation is not great. You need to swipe a couple of times to get the desired intensity.
Shade – Matte Black
Stay – 24 hours stay is so far fetched. I have oily lids and it was so disappointing. It faded off by half day from my lids.
Texture – Maybelline hyper matte liquid liner is watery and dries off to give a matte finish.
Packaging & Quantity – It comes in the usual pyramid like packaging. It has a plastic body with white base and black cap (nothing creative here). It is travel friendly. You get 3 g of product. (should have been in ml 😳 )
Applicator – Maybelline hyper matte liquid liner has a pretty basic applicator. Could have been more pointier though.
Transfer – Takes a while to dry and meanwhile it did transfer a bit on the lids.
Price – Rs. 325
Maybelline is famous for its kohls but hyper matte liquid liner did not excite me that much. It is a basic matte black liner. The pigmentation is not great, texture is watery and multiple swipes are required to get the desired intensity. Does not transfer to the lids once dried. It did not live up to the hyper intense, hyper matte and 24 hours stay claim. It fades off within half day especially from the lids. And at places it just peels off. It is not waterproof.
And no I will not buy it again as of now. I think there are better options available.
MM love – 2.7
