Brush Egg Review | Makeup Brush Cleaner

Breakouts can be avoided not just by cleansing your face and following the CTM routine but also by taking good care of things that touch your face, your skin.

One such tip would be to always have a separate towel for your face.
Always clean the sponges that you use.
Avoid touching your face too often.
And how can we forget our brushes? Yes! You need to clean them too.

Not only it avoids breakouts but also save you from wasting product. Yes, dirty brushes waste products. And they also act as hindrance in achieving that flawless makeup look you desire.

So now that we have proved how important it is to clean our brushes, lets move on to the review part.

You can find a lot of such variants in the market. Cheap ones, expensive ones. The Sigma one is obviously expensive. The hack one is using rubber hot water bottle. I did not have it at home so I had to spend money anyway. Therefore, I ended up buying this cute little thing from amazon that does its job perfectly.

What they claim – The Brush Egg is used to help with the deep cleaning process of makeup brushes. It is compact, quick, easy, affordable and effective. Reduces the use of brush cleaning solution. Smaller knobs on top used for foaming and lathering. Grooves on bottom used to agitate bristles just enough to release product, dirt and oils without stripping them. Smaller knobs are also ideal for smaller eye brushes for extra gentle lathering and releasing of dried on products. Especially waterproof mascara and liner.

How I use – Fit first two fingers in the brush egg space and wet it as well as the brush. Pour the cleansing solution on the brush egg or just dip the wet brush tip in the solution. Move the brush in circular motions on brush egg and then up and down motion. Wash the brush and repeat the process if more cleansing is required.

Color – The one I got is purple in color. Initially I wanted pink as shown in pictures on amazon but now when I am using it I think purple is better. Pink would get and look dirty a lot earlier than purple.

Body – The Brush Egg looks like a half egg and hence the name 😛 It has two different areas for cleaning. One for the bigger brushes with big lines and spacing (ridges, grooves) and the other for smaller brushes with small dots and lesser spacing (knobs, nubs). It is hollow so that you can easily insert your fingers and stick them inside. It gives a pretty good hold. The text Brush Egg is neatly embossed on the back of the body.

Packaging – It has no packaging as such. I received my brush egg wrapped in a bubble wrap. No box nothing. 😐 😐

Price – Rs. 235

I have no substitute for this item. Brush Egg is cheap, compact and effective. I like the way it looks with that cute curvy figure, so snugly. Removes all the dirt and gunk from my brushes really well, without stripping them off. Has two different sections for bigger and smaller brushes with ridges and knobs respectively. Things I do not like about it is the packaging. There was no packaging at all 😦 Also, it is a little tiring for my chubby fingers with so many brushes to clean.

Nonetheless I still love this product and would definitely recommend buying it 🙂 ❤
