The Body Shop Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalising Eye Cream-Gel Review

For me finding the perfect under eye cream has been literally a hunt. I like to try new products, you never know which one can do wonders for you. But there are some that you should definitely not waste your money on. I am here to do that research for you (and waste my money on products that don’t work as per my expectations 😥 😥 )

Anyway, the other day I was shopping (if you are on my instagram/snapchat you’d know I do that often 😛 ) and the SA recommended some products to me at TBS.

Let’s see how this one went 😀

What they claim

The fresh eye cream-gel combines 3 precious seed oils with caffeine and light reflecting particles to revitalise the eye contours and visibly reduces signs of ageing. The unique texture melts around the eyes, leaving skin moisturised, smooth and velvety-soft, with a non-sticky finish.
• Instantly illuminates, reduces dark circles and smooths fine lines and wrinkles

• Contains illuminating micro-pearls which instantly enlighten the eye area and help to disguise dark circles

• Black Cumin Oil contains high levels of antioxidants

• Rosehip Oil is rich in omega 3 and 6

• Camellia Oil contains a high concentration of oleic acid to hydrate skin

• Caffeine, which is known to effectively stimulate and reduce fatigue.

TOP TIP:

The Oils of Life™ Intensely Revitalising Eye Cream-Gel can also be used as a weekly mask! Apply a slightly thicker layer of product under the eye, and leave to sink-in for 5-10 minutes for an intensely nourishing treatment. To remove, gently dab away excess formula with a damp Cotton Pad.

How I apply – Dig out pea size amount of the cream on a clean ring finger and dot it on the under eye area. Gently massage (make sure you don’t miss the inner corners) and whatever is left apply on the lid.

TextureThe Body Shop Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalising Eye Cream-Gel is gel like 😛 and has minute shimmery particles which they call as micro-pearls that you won’t feel or see on applying but it illuminates the eye area. It gets absorbed very easily and does not feel dry or sticky.

FragranceNone as such.

Packaging & QuantityThe Body Shop Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalising Eye Cream-Gel has a tub packaging which I am not really fond of 😦 Although I use a clean finger for application but it still feels a little unhygienic to dip again. It is from the oils of life range and has a similar color code, that is, black screw cap and orange tub. It has a lid in between so that the content doesn’t come out and stick on the cap. Material of body is glass but it is quite sturdy. As clumsy as I am, I did drop it once but thankfully nothing broke. So yes, travel friendly it is 😀 You get of 20 ml product.

PriceRs. 2395

The lighting is a little different as I used natural light on different days. Nonetheless, the darkness is quite prominent at the inner and outer corners in before picture

First you need to understand that no eye cream/gel can do wonders if your lifestyle ain’t healthy. So lots of water, green veggies you need.

To summarise my experience with The Body Shop Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalising Eye Cream-Gel, I started seeing the difference pretty soon. The darkness around my eyes started to reduce, the inner corners seemed much brighter than before. The 2 weeks claim seems far from reality but guess what, it is true! Don’t expect the bags to just go away but yes it does start showing the difference, at least to you. (I recommend clicking before and after pictures for comparison as such minute difference can be figured out only with that).

For me it started working from the outer corners first. I observed less darkness post 2 weeks and the eyes seemed less sunken (Earlier the darkness gave the illusion of a depression at the outer corner) However, after that it did not do much for the darkness but it would be worth mentioning that the darkness did not increase either.

The area became smoother and fine lines reduced. Can’t say anything about wrinkles though (luckily I don’t have any yet). I also love how it melts into the skin so seamlessly and keep the area moisturised and hydrated without being oily. It is very lightweight and does not feel stretchy or sticky like the Kaya one. The micro-pearls in it helps to illuminate the eye contour. Also, if you look at the ingredients they sound really interesting.

However, it is on the expensive side of the line and shows result on continuous use only. Has a tub packaging which can be a no no for some but it surely is travel friendly.

This is great but next I’d like to try something that I can make on my own. Does anybody have a good DIY for the dark circles?

Buy it here.

MM love – 4 ❤

  1. But it’s quite pricey!! 😱😭
Despite being the product by body shop! 😖
But I’ll see to it… I don’t have much dark circles, so I’m lazy in doing my undereye area.. 😄

  2. Loved the review. And I agree no under eye serum/gel/cream are going to work unless you drink load of water and have a healthy diet. After reading this I actually sipped water from my bottle 😛
