Maybelline New York Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil Review | Glazed Toffee

The most common makeup product I have noticed people flaunting in metro is either eyeliner or an eye pencil. It is like almost everyone dons it (of course besides lipstick :P). So when a new eye pencil or a liner is introduced and that to which is affordable, it definitely gives me good enough reasons to try it for you 😛 Yes, of course for you, I have plenty already (no I don’t 😐 , yes I do 😛 )

So let’s check out how I found it 😀 😀

How I apply – I stretch my eye lid a bit from the outer corner and swipe the Maybelline New York Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil gently over it.

Color & pigmentation – The one I have is a lovely dark brown color. Not super dark but brown enough. The pigmentation is good. One swipe is all you need but you can go with two 😛

Shade – Glazed Toffee

Stay – Maybelline New York Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil stays from 7 to 8 hours easily. Haven’t checked beyond that.

Texture – Super creamy. It glides like melted butter on bread (Someone sounds hungry 😛 )

Packaging & Quantity – Maybelline New York Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil is an eye pencil and comes in a simple cardboard with all the details written on it. Once you tear it off you get the pencil out which has a transparent cap. The body of pencil is the color of the pencil itself. So yeah helps in storing and identifying 😀 You get 1.1 g of product.

Transfer – If you do not give it enough time to settle especially the ones with hooded eyes like mine, it would transfer. Otherwise not so much.

Price – Rs. 499

I know, I know! A lot of you out there really like the Maybelline New York Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil. But it really gave me a hard time to like it initially. The most irritating part of this is that it takes a bit too long to set and if I am in a hurry and don’t give time then it definitely transfers from my mobile lid to the hood of my eye. It is so so unflattering. I had to set my eyes with powder as I have too oily lids. A very thin line of it finally worked. It works well on the lower lash line too. I like the color, the consistency, the pigmentation and the ease with which it glides but it transfers (so definitely avoid it when in a rush 😐 😐  ) Another thing is that you need to sharpen it. Also, this does not really smudge but it does fade away a bit.

I have hooded eyes plus oily lids so a thick line of it is really not happening with me. But if you aren’t a hooded eye person or you are but have the setting time 😛 then go ahead and buy it 🙂 😀

  7. Wow!!! This is a nice brown liner. Tell me one thing, does it stay on water line as well?? Have you tried??

    Also, I have purchased the amethyst shade but my sis grabbed it away from me!! 😩😩 I think it’s high time that I purchase one for myself. 🤗

  20. I have tried brown eyeliner but it didnt look good on me. You have rightly said that they transfers to upper lid and need to sharpen a lot. I like other colors from this range.
