OMG! OMG! OMG! I have found it. Finally a foundation that I love immensely. (Gosh! Anumeha 😐 😐 You spilled it right at the beginning) Yeah! I just love love love the finish.
I am sorry, I really couldn’t wait till the end of the post to tell you how much I love this product. No more rambling. Let’s just start with the review.
What they claim – With just a few drops, our Total Control Drop Foundation delivers sheer-to-full coverage and a velvety matte finish. Simply adjust the number of drops you use until the desired level of coverage is achieved.
More drops = more coverage.
How I apply – Shake well. Apply drops all over face (2 on one cheek, 2 on forehead, 1 on nose, half on chin, 2 on one side of neck) and quickly work with the brush by first dabbing a bit and then moving in circular motions. You can build up another layer if you want. But first blend this layer properly. Alternatively you can also take the product on the back of your hand and then apply with a brush or sponge.
Color & pigmentation – I love the yellow undertones that NYX Total Control Drop Foundation has. It gives a very natural effect. It is buildable so you can go from light to full coverage just like that. And yes, without getting a cake face. I have just tried till medium as that is enough for me.
Shade – Beige (This shade is not available in India 😥 😥 but I think I will buy true beige next) There are 24 shades in all but in India they have launched only 15 shades. But that is still better seeing the existing drugstore brands color range.
Stay – This does stay put for a good 6-8 hours and doesn’t even oxidise on me. Wow!
Texture – NYX Total Control Drop Foundation is very runny and settles to a velvet matte finish which is really smooth. It can go patchy on dry skin or rough skin or dry patches so make sure you moisturise properly.
Shelf Life – 24 months
Packaging & Quantity – I really like how cute the packaging is. NYX Total Control Drop Foundation comes packed in a cardboard rectangular box. It is displayed how much drops you need for the kind of coverage you want (from light to full). The foundation comes in a tiny translucent frosted glass bottle with a black plastic dropper cap. This gives you full control over how much foundation you want to take out. And its really fun to use that dropper 😛 You get 13 ml of product.
Transfer – I won’t say it doesn’t transfer at all but it is very minimal.
Price – Rs. 1250 (I got it from US and it costed me $14 )
I can’t say enough about exactly how much I like this product. I have got so many and by so many I literally mean so many compliments for the kind of finish it provides. You should definitely visit their site. It helped me to pick my shade which they sadly did not launch in India 😦 😦 nonetheless I will be trying True Beige next. Yes! There is a next 😛 😛 There are 24 shades in all out of which only 15 shades are launched here in India on Nykaa.com . Why though? 😐 😐 But still I’d say the shade range is amazing.
Coming to the exciting part 😛 😀 It is very runny and easy to blend. It settles to a velvety matte finish (smooth finish). I have never gone cakey or ashy with this but I haven’t even gone full coverage with this yet. Make sure to moisturise properly or else it may cling to your dry patches, specially if you are from the dry skin type. The best part is that it does not oxidise on me. Almost all the foundations I own oxidise on me but no not this. So I don’t have to look like a ghost first and then wait for 30 minutes for everything to settle in. It does stay put for a good 6-8 hours(with blotting). There may be a teeny tiny bit of wear off but otherwise this thing stays there. The coverage is buildable from light to full, the dropper helps you do that. It blends in beautifully and is super easy(effortless). Be cautious that you don’t use too many drops as little of it is actually enough 😀 😀 Also, I love the frosted bottle, its so cute! I personally don’t like setting it with a powder as it already sets to a velvety matte finish and powder kills the whole smooth finish feel 😐 but then it can get a bit greasy during the day if you are an oily beast like me 😛 😛 It does tend to settle a BIT into fine lines even with a primer but nothing over the top.
- If you are from the oily skin type with no dry patches then use a brush as the texture of NYX Total Control Drop Foundation is super runny. Blot after 5-6 hours and it will be all good again 😀
- People from the dry skin type should Moisturise and go for a sponge/ beauty blender as that won’t make your dry patches more flaky or irritate them. Also, the final finish would be better.
In short, I love the smooth finish of NYX Total Control Drop Foundation and how beautiful my skin looks in pictures with this ❤ ❤ 😛
I will definitely buy this again 😀 😀
MM love – 4.75
