What do you look for when you think of eating out?? I certainly have good ambience, music, food and yes, service on my mind where the type of these keeps changing according to my mood. Trust me! I am now capable of making good food at home so I can obviously eat comfortably at my home in my jammies and in abundance π (Yeah! I think mostly the portions are compromised when we eat out π ) Anywho, so now that we all have agreed that I can cook a nice meal (some might think otherwise π π Β ) lets move on to find out more about this new place π π in Connaught place, Delh, India. Yes! I know people from other countries read my blog so I am just letting you know that I am from India. (such a boast..huhhh)
I recently visited Bombay Bar in Connaught place. What attracted me to this place was the whole bollywood theme and of course the good reviews on Zomato. Also, this is newly opened and I feel such places are best to visit as they need to establish their business, they are super generous in service, food and almost everything. It was my anniversary and I wanted a special treatment π π (such a princess π ) so Bombay Bar it was!
AmbienceΒ β I loved the whole light bulb thing going on as you enter. The bar lies on your left as you enter and the whole place is on the lengthier side. I love the seats beside the windows. It is on 2 floors but I’d suggest sit on the lower one only, it is more spacious and luminous and lively. They have three disco balls but white π chandelier near the staircase. The wall beside the stairs is decorated with bollywood actor’s portraitsΒ but mostly the current ones.Β The toilet says Senorita and Raj π (mentioning because I couldn’t capture that π )

MusicΒ β Does Shammi kapoor’s, Rajesh Khanna’s songs strike your brain cells when anybody says bollywood? In my mind it was all like Yaaahoooo! and Jai Jai Shiv Shankar but no such song got played π¦ π (no I am not caarreezy just getting in the whole bollywood groove π π ) They were mostly playing the current bollywood music. I would have enjoyed a mix though π π
ServiceΒ β Could not have asked for more but then we were kind of alone there. I don’t know how they would perform on a friday or saturday night. But then I have been to places on weekdays and not been served properly as they just didn’t seem to care much. Thankfully no such thing happened here. The staff was really generous. They suggested what we might like after hearing what we(majorly I was) were looking for. Also, we got a complementary snack and who doesn’t love that π π Right?

FoodΒ β I loved the fact that not just the quality but the quantity of food was good too. Here is what we had.
Baadshah Journey: This was a cocktail with vodka and coffee and seemed like whipped cream on top. Loved it! This was suggested by the staff. Recommend it to those who love the flavour of coffee. Only complaint is that they cleared the table before I could actually gobble on that ice cream/ whipped cream (I had to taste to tell what it was π ).

Mumbai Monsoon Bhel Puri: (Complimentary) There were 4 cones and I quite liked the presentation π It tasted good but I am not really fond of these so it was like okay for me. And no the cones aren’t edible so don’t you try that π

Parsi Keema Pao: You get 2 paos here with a lot of yummy delicious keema. The spices were good and it was finely cooked. A little on the spicy side π It was presented in a cute cart like serving dish. They also served dry garlic chutney with it but I didn’t quite like it. It was just okay. But the Keema was really good and pao was fresh.

Kholapur tandori chicken lababdar: I must say their quantity is good π but also the quality. It was really tender and properly cooked. However, I would have enjoyed it more if it were more spicy but that’s just how I feel. You might love it the way it was made. I loved the aroma, it was mouth watering.

Wild mushroom naan: Finely chopped mushrooms were sticked on the naan. It was good and different but I like garlic naan much more than this.

AccessibilityΒ β It is just on the road side and easily accessible. It will lie on your left hand side if you are driving there. And if you are commuting via metro then I think probably the A block exit is what you should take or if there is any P block exit. You will have to walk to the outer circle and cross the road.
To sum it up I loved the Bombay Bar. The staff was super generous. We also got a complementary snack π The quantity and quality of food was great and I absolutely loved it. Their menu reflects their theme through pictures and names. The name of the drinks and dishes were intriguing π I love the fact that some thought has been put into it. The music was typical current Bollywood. The ambience and mostly the music can however include the legends too, as all I heard and mostly saw was urban bollywood. After all it’s Bombay Bar and not Mumbai Bar π π (makes sense, right?) . Well that’s purely how I feel. You might just like it the way it is.
Definitely recommend a visit especially for the food!
MM love β 4.5Β

Oh wow! Looks very luxurious and stylish. Delhi has so many good places to eat. The variety of food that we get in India is missed a lot. We do have some good Indian Restaurants but that fun is missing. Lovely pictures and now I am feeling hungry. π
