The Coffee Shop Connection
This morning at my local coffee shop, I witnessed something small but beautiful.
An elderly man dropped his wallet while paying. Before anyone could react, a teenage girl, probably around 8, with bright blue hair and headphones quickly picked it up and returned it to him.
Their eyes met. He smiled. “Thank you, dear.”
She nodded, unplugged one earbud. “No problem. My grandpa always says we’ve got to look out for each other.”
The man’s face lit up. “Your grandpa sounds wise.”
“He is,” she said, plugging her earbud back in.
Two strangers, generations apart, connected for just seconds. Neither will likely remember this moment next week. But I saw how they both walked away a little lighter.
Sometimes I think these tiny human connections are what truly hold our world together.
